Fire Fighting & Fire Prevention

Duration - 2.5 days

Commonwealth Of Dominica Approved

This course is part of the mandatory basic safety training for all seafarers with designated safety duties. It deals with the precautions needed to minimise the risk of fires, how fires are caused and how to extinguish them.

There is plenty of practical training, with a focus on using fire fighting equipment and breathing apparatus to extinguish various types and sizes of fires including casualty rescue in smoke filled enclosed spaces. Our multi-storey steel fire unit, fitted with simulated shipboard compartments, is used for live fire training.

The mandatory basic safety training courses also include: Personal Survival Techniques, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities and Elementary First Aid.

The course is also included in our STCW Basic Safety Training Week.
